My job is a nightmare...

I've been really bad about posting lately.  I'm exhausted and I haven't had much incoming mail.  I did have one fun day with 4 packages in my mailbox! :)  So, here are pictures of the contents of those, and a picture of my outgoing mail today!

My job is terrible right now and every day it takes great effort not to just walk out the door... :( I'm so tired of bad management and redoing jobs. Blah.

Hope you are having a better day than me! :)

Wednesday.....

Monday was a good mail day! I got a penpal letter from Canada and an envelope full of fun stuff from Sweden thanks to sendsomething.net and instagram! I'm now behind in responses again, but I will get caught up soon...hopefully!  Not much else to say today.  I'm not feeling well and I'm just in a funk.  I just want to crawl back into bed, but alas, I have to work tonight.  Blah.  I will post some outgoing mail pics soon.

Lazy Sunday

I am having a lazy Sunday night...so is Hattie as you can tell! We are watching the Golden Globes. :)  So glad Claire Danes won again for Homeland! She's amazing and so is the show!  I have not done one productive thing today... I watched football earlier (Go Patriots!) and now the awards.  Thrilling life I lead, let me tell you! I wanted to write letters...but I haven't. I really should! No wonder my mailbox had been emptyish lately! Maybe tomorrow... Hope your weekend was good!

S-a-t-u-r-d-a-y night!

Went to the hockey game earlier. We won again!! We beat the first place team for the second night in a row! :)  Also, the Ravens beat the Broncos!!! Yessssssss!  Now I'm curled up on the couch watching Friends reruns, Hattie is sleeping on the couch and we are waiting for B to get home.  Tomorrow I will take my mom grocery shopping and then maybe write some letters. Football is on again tomorrow...yay!! I really needed a fun weekend! My work week sucked...a lot.  I already don't want to go back on Monday night.  Sigh.

Incoming

Received a lovely letter from a penpal in Germany.  This paper is so pretty! I haven't received a lot of mail lately, but until last week, I owed a lot of letters! So I think things will start to balance out now.  Also, my Postcrossing seems to be at a bit of a lull.  I've had a couple lost cards, and the others seem to be slow in travelling.  I just want to be able to send more! I also need to get caught up on sending things to sendsomething.net recipients!  That is a wonderful website for mailing fun stuff!  I've received some great things from that website! I'm also starting to send some mail thanks to instagram! I just love the different ways to make connections with new friends! I just really need to stay on top if my incoming mail!

One more night of work for the week....and then the weekend!  Happy weekend to you! :)

Some facts about me!

I am very new to blogging. I don't know how that is possible! I have faithfully used the Internet since 1996, and I've had an online diary, but never a blog...so I'm giving it a try! I've seen some awesome blogs lately, and I hope to at least possess an ounce of their awesomeness! Hmmmm...what to say about myself? I am pretty average, I must say. :) I'm 36...and I honestly don't know how that could be possible! It seems like just yesterday that I was a relatively carefree schoolgirl. My goodness, how life rushes by! I live in Ohio with my fiance, B. He's a wonderful guy - funny, kind-hearted, talented, genius smart!, and he always makes me smile. He would do anything at all for me. I don't know how I got so lucky! I haven't always been that lucky, believe me. I was married in 2000, separated in 2008 and divorced in 2010. And there have been some other heartbreaks thrown in there, so when I realize how much B loves me, it is just so comforting. You know, when your heart gets broken, you forget that you are worthwhile and important. I'm glad to feel I am both of those things again. We have an adorable dog, Hat-trick (aka Hattie). She's a dachshund/beagle mix and we just love her to death! She is incredibly spoiled, but it is because she is incredibly sweet! We love hockey...bet that wasn't hard to guess with a dog named Hat-trick! ;) We both work in the same company - he processes legal documents and I proof them. We work on different accounts, and we both have strange shifts, but it's what it is. I love, love, love music. It is part of my life every single day. I cannot imagine not listening to music! As I type this, I am listening to Kate Rusby's album - 10. I have different tastes in music, and my i-pod is completely random! My very favorite artist is Rachael Yamagata. She is stunning. Her lyrics and music break my heart and heal me all at the same time. I have a tattoo with her song lyrics, and I was able to meet her last year and see her again this year. She is a beautiful person. If you haven't heard her music, please go and listen! I hope you won't be disappointed! I will give any music a try, but I don't really like rap. I just don't see the sense in it. I also really like Gaelic Storm, Mumford and Sons, Sara Barielles, Ingrid Michaelson, Godsmack, Sleeping At Last...and too many others to name. If there's anyone out there with a recommendation, I'm all ears! :) I'm a movie and TV watcher. I love movie/TV/music trivia...and I kick ass! :) I always have random trivia floating around in my brain! I really would love to go on Jeopardy...that would be most excellent! My favorite show currently is "Homeland". It is fantastic! Claire Danes is amazing. If you haven't seen it, you should do yourself a favor and watch it! It's the best show I've seen in the last 10 years! I also enjoy Scandal, Ghost Adventures, Dead Files, Once Upon A Time, sunday night cartoons. There are others, but those are my "can't miss" shows! As far as favorite movies, Almost Famous is still right at the top of my list. I love that film! I also love The Matchmaker, Up, the Paranormal Activity series (even though it scared the piss out of me!!), Atonement...and many, many others! I love reading. I love anything to do with books. The smell of the pages, the texture of the cover, used book stores, e-books...all of it! :) I want to live in a cottage in Ireland with my books and nothing else in the world to do. I can dream... I will read anything as long as it sparks my interest...and there are many, many books on my "to read" list! Some favorites - The Probability of Miracles, The Fault in Our Stars (both young adult novels, but excellent stories!), Atonement, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Jane Eyre, Sight Hound (I cried so much in that one that Hattie came over and put her little paws on my knees to make sure I was okay!), and a million others! Again, any recommendations are always appreciated! I am a pen pal. I love that title! I love letter writing and getting something in my mailbox makes my entire day! I consider all of the girls I write to my actual and true friends. It doesn't matter how many miles separate us, I care what is going on in their lives just as much as I do about my local friends. I write every letter from the heart, and it may take just a little time for me to respond, but I always do. I look for little extra things to tuck in the envelopes...just little "thinking of you" gifts. Even if it's a couple of stickers, just something extra and fun. I can write 10 pages with no problem, even in reply to shorter letters! I like to write letters whenever I have the chance, so I don't really have one special place where I write. Sometimes it is tucked under a blanket on the couch, sometimes at my mom's kitchen table, sometimes at my desk at work...whenever I have the time! I carry stationery and letter writing supplies with me all the time, so I am always ready! :) My mom always shakes her head when she sees all the stuff I carry! :) I also belong to sendsomething.net. What an excellent website! I have gotten some very fun things in the mail from wonderful people on that site! I've sent some things and I hope now that the holiday craziness is over that I will send a lot more! I've started making my own envelopes and cards and I absolutely love it! My mom always wondered when my craftiness would kick in! She used to sew a lot and so did my grandma, and I have a lot of talented relatives who make things, but I never have until now. I'm enjoying it quite a lot! I hope that I get more talented as time goes on. :) Well, I think this is good for my introduction. I'm sure I will have lots more to say later. Thank you for stopping by! Take care! And enjoy your mail! :) G

Nighttime grocery shopping

As much as I dislike my job, I am glad I get to grocery shop on my lunch hour! It's the little things!

Well, I've created a blog. And I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing! :) I will figure this out eventually! Stay tuned!
